Church Newsletter For October 15, 1997.

Greetings from one who loves you!
I would like to start this edition of the newsletter by telling everyone how happy I am with the membership participation in our church. After a bit of a slow start, the church bulletin board seems to have really caught on, and is one of the more popular and used activities of our church. Folks are using it for everything from prayer requests, to testimonies, to bible discussions, even for sharing humorous stories, and more. It does my heart good to see our membership sharing fellowship this way.
The weekly fellowship chat sessions also continue to bring a good particpation. If you haven't been to a chat session yet, you're missing one of the best features of our fellowship. We truly enjoy Christian fellowship in our chat sessions, and share stories, give encouragement and support to one another, and we always take prayer requests and have a good prayer session on these requests, both spoken and unspoken. It's a great way to interact with the other members of our church. And remember, if there's any trouble with the chat room, the java chat room is our fall-back, we'll meet in there.

Our Lord continues to move greatly in our church. Last newsletter, I shared some of the statistics of our church, and I'd like to share some more this time. Church membership has grown to 92 members! I fully expect us to reach one hundred members very soon. Of 92 members, our church has ordained 53 members into the clergy. Oh, Praise God! Fifty-three new servants of Our Lord, out spreading the Good News and leading folks to salvation! I truly feel this is one of the most important functions our church can perform, and one of the reasons Our Lord is blessing us so greatly.

In other numbers, The International Alliance Of Web-Based Churches is now up to 12 member churches. Twelve (count 'em, 12!) other churches on the internet, all of us linked together and sharing the mission of spreading the Good News over the internet. Many of the member churches of the Alliance were founded by our own members, I'm very happy to say. Also, the First International Church Of The Web Internet Evangelism Award has been awarded to 21 Christian websites. These sites all deserve credit and recognition for their evangelistic efforts. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - what a wonderful and exciting time to be alive and in service to Our Lord!

I've added a new feature to the front page of the website - the Audio Bible. You can now listen to readings from the Old Testament and New Testament, as read by Alexander Scourby. These are great readings, and I think everyone will really enjoy them. Also, way down at the bottom of the front page, you'll find a link to Family Radio, a world-wide Christian radio ministry. You'll need Real Audio to enjoy these features, but both have links to the site you can download Real Audio for free.

Finally, I'd like to close this issue of the newsletter by thanking each of you for allowing me to serve you with this ministry. Please know that you remain in my prayers at all times, and that I strive constantly to be the best pastor I can be for this church. I would also like to take a moment to thank someone especially for their service and support of this ministry. I won't embarass anyone by mentioning names, but you know who you are, and I thank you. Also, everyone please be in prayer for one of our members who lost a loved one this past weekend. Praise God, she was a Christian, and we have sure and certain knowledge that she's now comfortably in the company of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Well, until next time, may God's richest blessings fill your lives and provide for your every need. God bless you. See you in chat!

Yours in Christ,
Brother Dave
